No. 62 Jewelry is pleased to present an exhibition of Kayo Saito's pieces of fine jewelry, on view at our downtown Jackson gallery space from December 20th, 2024 through January 12th, 2025. In this most recent collection of her etherial 18k gold pieces, Saito continues subtly simplify and abstract the natural forms of flora, imbuing each work with both timelessness and elegance. In these pieces, she also brings alternate materials into her practice, including pearls, beryl, quartz and diamonds.
Born in Yokohama, Japan, Kayo Saito studied craft design and metal work at the Japanese Art College in Tokyo. She finished her studies, earning her master’s from the Royal College of Art in 2001. She has won several jewelry prizes and was shortlisted for the UK’s Art Foundation Awards in 2010. Her work has been presented in many European high-end galleries and art fairs. Some of her works are also found in collections, such as the Worshipful at Goldsmiths’ Company.
